Hi,
I am Vicki
(Victoria Lynn is my pen name)
My main career has been in raising 6 marvelous sons whose abilities have far surpassed mine.
I am a nurse by profession. The training and title have added depth and rich experiences to my life.
I am a wife who firmly believes in marriage as an incredible tool for growth and opportunity to love beyond ourselves.
Grandmothering 25 amazing individuals is my relished life dessert.
And I am a writer, journalist, author and presenter who loves using words of expression and attempting to share them effectively. “My life is my story” as Ghandi said. I am dedicated to sharing bits and pieces through books, videos, articles and posts that may be useful.
As a child, I pretended to be on TV (which had just come out) convincing others to use a certain product. I was satisfied in believing my viewers would be convinced and follow my lead.
My dream to share my love of speaking and teaching became a reality when I was asked to speak at women’s conferences and I have had many teaching opportunities in schools and in television and radio interviews.
After publishing my first book, it was always an honor to speak at bookstore events and local libraries.
I appreciated opportunities to be interviewed for newspaper articles and to have the support of a local women’s group.
Juggling a nursing career while raising six sons was a challenge yet I found a way to be in both worlds while giving the majority of time to family.
As a BSNRN University of Utah graduate over 50 years ago I have been grateful to work in various capacities nationally and internationally. My first assignment as a Red Cross Disaster Team Nurse was in NYC following 911.
I was asked to write an article for Irish Magazine about that responsibility. Serving as a Mental Health RN as a school nurse and in hospitals provided me with practical and enriching experiences.
Some additional highlights were serving as a volunteer nurse for the Heritage Choir in Armenia, and as a church-assigned women’s leader in Warsaw, Poland with permission to make house calls.
During rehab following brain surgery in 1988, I was pleased to receive sound therapy treatments in Denver, Colorado which improved my functioning and mood. (Picture of listening). I was invited to be trained as a professional sound therapist and I continue to be a provider. See Homepage Blossoming through Art and Music.
